When you feel good in what you're wearing, you move differently. More confidently, with more joy. This is an experience I know from two worlds: running and fashion.
At six years old, I ran my first races, even then with cool headwear. My mother was a marathon and ultra-runner for years; we traveled a lot and ran a lot together. For me, running was never just a sport; it was simply there.
At 21, I took a break, reoriented myself, and studied fashion design. In 2025, I rediscovered running.
The starting point for MOTTE was personal. Bandanas were a trendy running accessory, and I too fell for the trend. However, on the track, I realized that cotton simply doesn't work for this purpose: it retains moisture, stays wet, and feels uncomfortable. In my search for a performance bandana with a print I actually wanted to wear, I couldn't find one. So, I started to develop it myself.
With a background in fashion design and years on the running track, I knew what mattered. The result is bandanas and headbands that perform well and still look good. Quick-drying, breathable, crease-resistant, with prints developed with care.
A new limited edition drop is released every three months. Collectible, sometimes in collaboration with artists or non-profit organizations.
The name comes from the moth wings that inspired my first prints, and from the fact that I prefer to run in the evenings.
